ABS-CBN reported on the opening of the facility, which is said to be part of the OEM’s expansion efforts in the Philippines. The centre, located in Two Cyberpod Centris, will start commercial operations later his year, and provides “off-shore applications infrastructure technology and business process outsourcing services”.

The site is the third such location in the country after those in Makatai and Taguig City, and HP also has product business units situated in both Makatai and Cebu. The OEM stated that its presence in the country has “continuously grown” since its first location opened in 2003, adding that the new site highlights the “ongoing investment” in both the Philippines and Asia for HP.

Nathalie Bernardo, HP’s Director for ITO Global Delivery for Philippines and China, stated: “Today we have expanded… to this new location in Quezon City so this will serve as our growth area. We realized the north part of Metro Manila is very important to us, [and this new facility will allow us] to tap the talent pool in Quezon City. We know how challenging it is to be faced by natural disasters so it is important to us to have a business continuity alternate site.”

Bruce Dahlgren, HP’s Senior Vice President and General Manager for Enterprise Services for Asia Pacific and Japan, added: “Our continued investment in the Philippines […] was something [we discussed] in 2010 as we met with President Aquino, and it’s exciting to see this new chapter.

“With 10 years of success, the increase of investments that we’re making here, this new style of IT, the Philippines becomes an incredibly important asset for this company to help our customers.”
